From a sailing point of view, Cecina is a real paradise. The local coast is swept by light but constant winds that allow long trips on a sailboat in the heart of the Tyrrhenian Sea. Just 30 miles away are the Island of Elba and the Island of Capraia, two protected natural pearls within the National Park of the Tuscan Archipelago.
Cecina then offers interesting navigation options both in the direction of the archipelago and along the wonderful Tuscan coast. Sailing enthusiasts can experience the thrill of mini-cruises in the Tyrrhenian Sea also towards the French island of Corsica.
Sailing trips are an ideal activity for the whole family and not only in the summer. They allow to stay together and appreciate the sea and the coast from a new point of view, engaging and definitely exciting. Once on board everyone can collaborate on the success of the excursion and learn the basic rudiments of sailing.
Starting from Cecina, the most popular destinations are the islands of the Tuscan archipelago, Viareggio, Piombino or Punta Ala, the area of Monte Argentario, Castiglione della Pescaia.
During navigation, especially the Elbe, it is possible to spot some marine mammal as we are near the protected area dedicated to them, known as the Sanctuary of the Cetaceans.
Also you can not give up the thrill of a dip in the open sea, in the most crystalline spot of water, with the bright green of the Elba coast to complete this fabulous scenery.
